CAMBRIDGE 302E DDV & FLIGHT RECORDER CAMBRIDGE 302: Secure GPS flight Recording, Altimeter, Vario, Averager, Audio, Accelerometer. The 302 includes an internal GPS receiver. The 302 is a complete FAI-approved Flight Recorder including barograph and engine run detection functions. An optional external backup battery will be available that will provide more than one hour of operation, including flight recording, if the glider battery fails. A pilot may start out with the 301 vario and then at a later date return it to the factory or a Service Dealer for conversion to a 302. The 302 will output NMEA 0183 including the GPS altitude sentence. This will allow the connection of Pocket-PCs running third party nav computer software

Certified Flight Recorder The Cambridge Aero Instruments 302A/CFR Flight Recorder combines a GPS receiver, barograph, and non-volatile memory in a single instrument that mounts in a standard 2.25” (57mm) aircraft instruemnt panel opening. Flight logs produced by the Cambridge 302a/CFR conform to the secure flight recording requirements of the International Gliding Commission (iGC) of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) for competitiion flights and are designed for review an analysis using PC based flight reconstruction software which displays aircraft position, altitude, airspeed, and flight path. The 302A/CFR requires no in-flight attention from the pilot. The Pilot Event (PEV) button allows the pilot to set markers in the flight record as it is being made. An LED on the front of the instrument verifies the recorder’s operational status. Flight logs are transferred via the serail connector on the back of the instrument and a standard cable from the recorder to a laptop or hand-held personal computer. Flash memory is used for firmware are well as flight logs. Firmware upgrades are distributed via the Cambridge web site on the Internet. 303 LCD DISPLAY 303 LCD DISPLAY The 303 is based on the navigation display of the Cambridge GPS-NAV Secure Flight Recorder. With a simple upgrade to the display, any GPS-NAV Display can be converted into the 303. The 303 can now access up to 2000 waypoints, announce entry into the FAI photo-sectors, display final glide information, and allow front panel editing of pilot configuration data.
