Our Facilities
The staff
and members of Williams Soaring Center (WSC) invite you to join us in
our appreciation of pure flight. We support and teach the principles
of the Soaring Society of America (SSA), which is dedicated to the art
and science of motor-less flight both for pleasure and competition,
emphasizing a maximum degree of safety through professional training.
We encourage participation in the SSA badge program, local, regional
and national competitions, and record soaring.

Williams Soaring
provides a private airport with a 2300 ft paved runway, complimentary
pilot bunk rooms with kitchenette, heating, air conditioning, bath rooms
& shower. We host a pilot lounge, computer area, DSL and direct
dial access in every room, training and briefing room. We also provide
glider trailer storage.
Our Location
We are located
near the Southern edge of the Mendocino Mountains, well known for fantastic
summer and fall cross country flying. Also, the airport's valley situation
creates favorable conditions for spring and early summer adventures.
Mountain Wave is also encountered when the "westerlies" blow,
usually post-frontal in winter and early spring. And finally the famous
Maxwell shear is a phenomenon in the summer. This intrusion of marine
air into the heated Sacramento Valley air mass is known for creating
great soaring conditions and you'll find it right on our doorstep.
