    VSA Race Day # 4 - April 20, 2019

    VSA Race Day # 4
    Saturday, April 20, 2019

The day will start with the usual pilotís meeting in the morning,
    with Cora's coffee cake, of course;

    Happy Hour @ 5 PM

Dinner plans to be determined at the pilot's meeting that morning.
(Options include Restaurant, Take Out, or
someone to volunteer, organize, and facilitate
an impromptu BBQ dinner at WSC)

Spend the day soaring (weather permitting)
before and after flying (or instead of flying if the weather is not so cooperative),
there will be plenty of good food, great company, and lots of stories.

Donít forget to RSVP for a tow!

    by email to
    noelle@williamssoaring.com
or call the Gliderport at 530-473-5600.

Hope to see you all there!!

I just looked at the panoche RASP for Saturday and it looks pretty good.

    Luke,
That's a pretty bold task for Wiliams race day.

Luckily the panoche rasp covers all of the northern part of the great state of CA, so it is not necessary to fly to panoche to find out if it is accurate.

BTW Val renamed it to NorCal-coast RASP as it is now extended from Santa ynez to the trinities.
That said, I don’t see a problem with tasks from Williams to Panoche on the right day

    Report from Vacaville via internet.

Looks like a beautiful day at Williams Soaring Center - a great day for a race?
I don't know if a task was called, but the ramp is empty and everyone is in the air.

Looking at the link which Noelle had provided a few weeks ago ... http://live.glidernet.org/#c=39.1269...9&z=10&s=1&l=r

I see seven gliders in the air at 1:55 today. I can identify Russ in "JM" but the others are unknown to me. Can't tell the players if they don't identify themselves.

Web Cams show the inviting sky. Really pretty.

Everyone. Please update your FLARM so you are correctly identified.

Please also note that PASCO is sponsoring expansion of the OGN receiver network for the purposes of visibility our sport (public outreach, education and entertainment) and safety. The expanded network should include popular xc routes between Montague to Berryessa, Byron to Avenal and Air Sailing/Truckee to Bishop. This network will provide the "real time" data that you are now used to at Williams and hopes to expedite search and rescue operations for missing gliders.
