    Key
To register your FLARM device for use with the OGN tracker:

The registration requires the FLARM ID of your FLARM device.

Option 1. I understand from Noelle that the FLARM ID is noted on a placard on the FLARM device.

Opeion 2. Noelle also noted that the FLARM ID is contained in each IGC log file downloaded from your FLARM device for an individual flight.

My FLARM ID ďA0798FĒ is located about 20 lines from the top of the IGC file as follows:

    LFLA193642ID 1 A0798F

Since the received data is only FLARM, pilots need to associate their FLARM ID (typically the same as their 'Mode S' ID) with their registration/contest numbers in the OGN database here: https://ddb.glidernet.org. This allows trackers and whatnot to display the contest/registration numbers.

I suspect Key is not the only one with this question.

Since the intro of FLARM to the USA, many pilots have tried to make this system easy to use and easy to understand.

So many abbreviations are used these days it is difficult to sort out the seemingly most basic of questions. Couple that with the development of newer and seemingly competitive organizations, each with web sites that morph from one name to another, and it is no wonder it is a major challenge to find the correct answers to what seem like the most basic questions.

Noelle introduced us to this Flarm Tracking and thanked Phillip Lee. - https://www.williamssoaring.com/news...Flarm-Tracking
Subsequent posting were helpful and we saw more info posted by Phillip - aka rocketman. See more info I came across here - https://github.com/rocketman768

For the purposes of understanding enough about the flarm that is in your ship and registering your transmitter so that you can be identified by other gliders pilots in flight, as well as observers on the ground who are monitoring and observing your progress, I suggest that each pilot who has a flarm visit this web site…..

I found it fascinating to browse the many links on the page - http://wiki.glidernet.org/about
A word of caution - don’t stop to research every one of the many abbreviations.

    FYI - flarmnet.org has a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) - https://www.flarmnet.org/faq
but for me, the FAQ's tended to raise even more questions than they answered.
