    GOES West satellite image archive

Announced earlier in this forum, the satellite images are just amazing in resolution and color:
    https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOE...17&sector=wus#

however, it's not obvious how to get archived images, like when you want to see what it looked like yesterday. After futzing around for quite a bit searching, it's in plain sight under each image on the above page. Click on "FTP access" and it walks you thru mounting to your disk so you can click and duplicate an image. NOTE: the files ONLY BACK 10 DAYS. The file name format is: year, day of the year (like Jan 1 is 001), UTC time:
Name: Sample GOES archive file timestamp Jun16 320p.jpg
Views: 195
Size: 84.1 KB

and are listed by size, up to 4k.
