Be Careful What You Ask For....

I haven't been flying for a while. I'm one of those who doesn't do well self-taught. So, to jump start my re-entry, I signed for instruction with Charlie Hayes for 4 Sundays in a row. If this Sunday is an indication, September is going to be a fun month for me.

It all started with the innocent yaw string. "Hey Charlie, I'm having problems keeping the yaw string straight". Charlie said he could fix this. His idea was to tape the yaw string straight! That flight went very well. I felt liberated. I could focus more on footwork and stick without being distracted by the yaw string. But, he didn't stop there.

For my 2nd & 3rd flights, he covers the Air Speed Indicator and Altimeter. Then he said "okay Tom, let's go fly". I did okay with airspeed, but not so well with elevation. Nonetheless, this was still a confidence builder.

Just wanted to share this wonderful experience with my fellow pilots.
