Re: Monday East Wave alert
Thanks Kempton. I am Following the thread to see if anyone else is planning to fly. My glider is at Byron so not sure I can make it.

Ouch. Glider in shop and work commitments I can't skip. I hope someone goes so I can waste the whole day watching you on the tracker!

Re: Monday East Wave alert
FYI, for pilots who haven't used Tracker too much, here is the url for tracker at Byron:
http://glidertracker.org/#lat=37.830...1.625&z=12&id=
I see Ramy is in the air. I see it on the SSA Tracker:
https://www.ssa.org/SailplaneTracker/Default.asp
Wind over Mt Diablo, looking at Windy.com shows:
- wind arrows, 8 Am to 5 PM today, surface to FL 300
The wind at 24,000 (400h) looking at 11 AM, the top wind arrow is approximately 005 degrees at 65 kts (that's in degrees true, not magnetic).
Next one down is 500 mb - FL180 - about the same direction at 55 kts.
And finally, the Windy.com view at 10,000 ft. See wind in motion coming from the NNE
end
