I meant it. See 3 sisters RASP, 5-6k top of thermals PM. But wave likes a thermal layer below the stable layer, at least per the books. Didnt notice a difference in forecasts. The key was seeing very local downslopes lined up to wind.

Once again, the WSC RASP was accurate and correct. In the 36 hours before my planned Saturday flight, the Snow wave faded, but I was committed. Friday looked great, with wispy wave induced clouds, and even a lennie like cloud off of Snow. But Saturday had weak lift on our first attempt, never finding more than 1 kt 1-2 miles W of Letz Lake. A second attempt at 11:30a fared a bit better, same place getting up to 12k, but not enough to get to Hull where stronger wave was forecast. We did manage to work thermals into the wave, still 1-2 miles W of Letz Lake. Indeed the unstable layer was deep enough to kick off thermals, which didn't help the wave.
The consolation for the two days was to 1) fly with Danny and Evan Cohen, an accomplished PG pilot and friend of Alex Neigher's, and 2) debug FNX after we redid many things in the cockpit. We'll give it a go again before the wave season ends! OLC:

Kempton thanks for the report and thanks for signing up on the SSA tracker. Both your Inreach and flarm were showing on the SSA tracker as FNX which made it easy to track you. Hopefully others will register their tracking device and flarm on the SSA tracker.
