Next wave of great soaring starting Thursday 5/20

Thursday is looking epic with 10K bases everywhere including all across the valley. I donít recall ever seeing such a forecast. It could be a bit windy though. Friday looks great as well, and possibly through the weekend.

I'm planning on being at Williams Th/Fri, maybe Sat.

Now the usual forecast tracking for the next few days...

    Hope to see you there.

It's 945a Friday May 21, and look at those cu already!

This doesn't happen that often, in this case, it's driven by the unusually low pressure aloft, same driver for Thursday's spectacular 12+k cu day in the valley the previous day. As of 8a this morning, it's 300-303 on the 700mb, that's way low:

"Normal" is around 312-315, so the rh required is lower for cu, like in this case 50% vs 60-65% (my estimate) and yet we have nearly summer solstice solar energy. Have a great flight!
