    Soaring on Friday 6/4/221

We've had extraordinarily good flying conditions this season, but even with that being said, today is a great day to go flying. I concede - not as compared to the last 20 or 30 days, but...

if you think of what soaring conditions were like for most days from September 2020 to April 2021, then you'll have to say today is a boomer.

I booked the ship a week ahead of time, PJ took the day off and wants to practice more flying, so I'm going. Practice boxing the wash, climb to 7 or 8 over goat, 9 or 10ish over snow, maybe make it to Alder, maybe Yolla, maybe Bessa or Crazy creek. No cu, but lift should be there.

    More to follow.

Pretty much as advertised. Actually, it was EXACTLY as predicted on the RASP.
Lift in all the predicted places and the winds appeared to be accurate.
We didn't fight the tops of the thermals but moved on as we approached the tops (altitudes) that were predicted for each area by the RASP HCrit chart.

Going south towards Crazy Creek area we moved over the gold Mines early, with tops found lift as predicted over that area. Going south on the ridge, we reversed to the north before reaching Bessa towers - when we were down to 500 above our glide to home (with a MC of 3), but there was no concern, as the fcst convergence over Rumsey Gap was there as expected.
