Race Day WX: Saturday Sept 21: Post Frontal

Could be west wind wave in the morning, then looking to be a very nice valley day:

Will look at BLIPs tonight. The following Saturday, Sept 28 also looks to be a good post frontal day too. Spring in the fall!

Kemp- maybe you could edit (go to advanced/ edit) the title of this thread. maybe change it to wx for race day, or just put the date - in any case. It no longer looks like it will be post frontal. As you always say - things change.

Now that it is Thursday am, and I am looking at BLIP (using NAM), and the RASP - for day after next (thank you Andy)...

I see total cloud cover is high - a large amt of cloud cover to the N and NW of WSC.

I also see that wave is likely over Capay Valley - it's likely to be over goat too, but too many clouds and too much moisture over there.

The area south of WSC looks flyable - not so much cloud, and it is unstable up to 6,000 ft.
It should be a good day to enjoy.

Thanks, Kemp and Peter, as always for keeping us informed. Those of us who work with the calendar model appreciate your postings. I start anticipating the weekend - well - on Monday! Looking forward to flying

    Peter,
The tools only allow me to change the title of my post, not the thread title, sorry!

Sunday looks better than Saturday as of this morning, but it depends on the timing of the moisture blob off the Eureka area Fri night....

    See what BLIPs say tonite....

    Kemp,
Re: no title change - Yeah I see that - once there has been an addition to the thread.

As for conditions on Sunday - that's a Moot point as far as the Saturday Race Day is concerned. But, it's still good info, for those coming out on Sunday as well.

I see the possibility of rain showers for Saturday, but hopefully they are isolated and will allow flying.
