Beautiful shots - Pete. I was so taken by the tranquility of the field, the landscape and the sky, that I missed the glider towing into the wave. It's amazing how the lennies are so sculpted and tranquil appearing from the ground on days when the wave is so powerful.
    Thanks for sharing the photos!

The dinner preceding Pete "98"'s Soaring Safaris Update will be a hearty lasagna meal with fresh bread and salad, and Greg's cheesecakes for dessert. There will be a foot race up and down the runway between dinner and the seminar to run off some of the calories, and the winner gets out of helping with the dishes!

hee hee hee - see you there!

And, before I forget, do we have anyone who would prefer meatless lasagna or any other dietary requests? Send me a private e-mail to ke6vgz@sbcglobal.net (Ginny's e-mail address) by Tues, March 18 so I can get the "right stuff"!

Some thoughts for "Hangar Talk" during the beer and appetizer period of the day.

It will be interesting for those who did not make it to the convention to hear from those who did.
An idea from our illustrious secretary - for open discussion (she is among those who would like to hear about the convention) "What was your interest in going this year?"
"What new ideas and/or products caught your attention while there?"
"What did you gain or take away from this convention that will benefit you (and others) as an individual pilot?"
"What did you gain or take away from this convention that will benefit the soaring community as a whole?"
    etc., etc.

    Ginny,

What a great idea! My dishpan hands have finally recovered from the January 11 dinner and I would do anything to avoid that again! But running a race? I'm not sure my knees could take that! Couldn't we do something else like draw straws? Or maybe a spirited round of rock-paper-scissors?

But speaking of races.... You and I talked a little this past weekend about the 2014 VSA Race Series and I just happened to notice this page on the VSA website:

    2014 VSA Race

According to that page, the first race is scheduled for March 22! I have not seen any mention of that in this thread about the activities on March 22. Is that still happening? If so, has a CD been designated for the race?

Those questions about this specific date aside, there are more that come to mind (some of which we talked about last weekend) that warrant their own thread. I'll start another thread that deals with this year's race series and we'll see where the community wants to go.
