Another great day to fly far and fast - thank to Kempton and Pat for the heads up - see adjacent thread.
As i said on the other thread, I went out to fly.
I really wish we had a logger in ASW24-88.
My tablet screws up the log most of the time - mostly due to operator error on my part.
In any case I have a piece of a log for you to review and lots of photos. Photos that somehow, usually don't get published.
I loaded with water (10 gallons on in each side).
Hit tree farm at 6,500 ft.
10 knots to 10,000 at Goat a good start.
Nice clouds, bases at 13,000
see track.
Void of clouds NE of Hayfork, so didn't try for Trinity Alps. I stayed to the west.
Rain in the area from Hayfork to 10 miles west (WSW actually).
So stayed west of that too.
Couldn't go much past hyampom due to clouds/ precip ahead so turned back towards home a 2:45PM
Task is an out and return from Goat to a point about 5 or so miles NNE of Hyampom.
One way distance 107 plus.
Round trip was 215.7 miles flown at an average speed of 82 MPH
See attached files.
Decided to take the camera out and here is one of first photos - from 5 mi NNE of Hyampom - see south end of Scot Valley and see precip (or at least lots of clouds) over the Marble Mountains...
Rain to the East as I pass over Hyampom
Still north of Ruth - I'll stay on West edge of the clouds
Looking back to the north I see rain a bit heavier over Hayfork now
Overhead the NW corner of Snow Mtn, looking back at Hull Mtn - see Pillsbury Lake behind right wing.
