Ok, So the latest weather outlook is for not so good flying weather. We shall see.
Whatever the weather does, I'm looking forward to Key's talk - which touches on an important safety topic, and a subject of interest to all pilots.

I will be shopping for dinner ingredients tomorrow, so it's time for any last minute updates and sign ups.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Re: VSA Winter Seminar #2 - January 16th

    Hi all,

Great seminar on Saturday night! Thanks for putting together such a relevant and interesting talk, Key!

The talent and enthusiasm in our community continually amazes me. When I arrived at the hangar (late, after being caught in a Saturday afternoon traffic jam for 2+ hours), the place had been transformed from looking like a warehouse with aviation related parts and pieces being inventoried (a week ago), to an elegant dinner hall. The booths that were in the planning stages last week had been constructed and were in use, with pilots sitting in small groups sharing some laughs and conversations. The tables were festively set for dinner, and the smell of baking cookies filled the hangar (Thanks Nina!).

A big thanks to Rex and Noelle for providing the classy space for a community event, and to all to that made the evening event happen! As many of you know, Pat Alford did the planning and coordination with speakers for this years Winter Seminar Series. Say thanks to him next time you see him! Nice job, Pat. Thanks to our VSA secretary, Cora for her creativity and diligence in getting the announcements out - yep, that's our Cora, baking coffee cakes in her spare time ;o), and to Frank Peale for managing the finances for the club.

Kevin Ash has been hard at work on the hangar transformation - it is a work of beauty. Great concept and great implementation. Thanks, Kevin!

Too many other people involved to name them all, but thanks to all who participate in making Williams a wonderful place for the soaring community to come together for these events. What we have is special, and a product of the combined work of many.

See you on March 12 for the next VSA Dinner Seminar! Save that date! ...Will it be a Valley Soaring Day???

We shot video of Key's presentation in an attempt to make it available to those unable to attend.

The video is available for viewing only on the VSA Computer in the pilots lounge. (We will not be posting or distributing copies.)

The plan is to building a video library of the VSA Seminar presentations and make them available for viewing on the VSA computer.
